Lennox Mini-Split Installation: The Las Vegas Owner’s Guide

We install Lennox mini-split systems throughout Las Vegas, and a complete installation typically runs $3,500 – $7,500 depending on the number of indoor heads, the condenser size, and how much line set work your home needs. We stock the common Lennox mounting hardware, line sets, condensate pumps, and electrical disconnects on our trucks, so most single-zone installs are done in one day. The most common way homeowners find us is after a failed attempt at a budget install, or when a previous contractor left a unit leaking refrigerant into the dry Las Vegas air. If your Lennox mini-split is blowing warm, icing up, or dripping water inside the house, call us at (725) 502-1353 and we’ll tell you straight what’s going on.

Key takeaways:

  • Lennox mini-split installation in Las Vegas runs $3,500 – $7,500 for most homes, parts and labor included.
  • We are an independent installer, not affiliated with Lennox, and we match OEM or quality aftermarket parts to your exact outdoor unit model number.
  • Every install gets a written price before work starts, and the workmanship is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise.
  • We service all major brands for parts replacement, including Carrier and Trane, but this page is focused on Lennox mini-splits.

Which Lennox Models This Applies To

Lennox puts the model number on a silver rating plate on the side of the outdoor condenser. If you have a MLA, MPA, MPB, or the newer MCA series outdoor unit, those are the mini-split systems we see most in Las Vegas, often paired with the MWMA or MWMB wall-mount indoor heads. One compatibility gotcha we run into constantly: Lennox changed the flare fitting torque specs and the line set sizing between the MLA and MCA generations, so a cheap universal line set that “fits everything” is exactly what causes slow refrigerant leaks six months after install. We match flare sizes and line set diameters to your specific condenser, not to whatever is closest on the truck.

When it comes to parts, OEM Lennox components carry the exact spec your system was engineered for, and they cost 20 – 40% more than a quality aftermarket equivalent. In our experience, the aftermarket options for common wear items like fan motors, thermistors, and drain pans work fine if they are matched correctly. For anything involving the compressor, the inverter board, or the electronic expansion valve, we recommend OEM every time. The Las Vegas heat punishes a slightly off-spec part faster than anywhere else we have worked, and Devin Marlowe has seen enough scorched inverter boards on units that someone “saved” $200 on to know better than to gamble with the heart of the system.

Signs Your Lennox Mini-Split Installation Is Failing

  • The unit runs but barely cools in the afternoon. A mini-split that cools fine in the morning and falls behind by 2 p.m. is often a refrigerant charge issue from an improper installation flare, or a condenser that is oversized for the space but starving for airflow. We check both before recommending anything.
  • Water drips down the wall from the indoor head. Las Vegas humidity might be low, but mini-splits still pull moisture out of the air. A clogged drain line or a cracked drain pan sends that water down your drywall instead of outside. This one compounds fast in a desert climate because the condensate dries, hardens, and clogs harder.
  • The indoor head makes a rattling or grinding noise. A failing blower motor bearing or a cracked fan blade is the usual culprit. Ignoring it can take out the control board when the motor finally seizes, and a new Lennox control board is a lot more expensive than a blower motor replacement.
  • The outdoor unit short-cycles or won’t start in extreme heat. An inverter board that is on its way out will run fine at night and then trip and reset itself during the hottest part of a Las Vegas summer day. That’s a parts failure, not a settings issue, and it needs a diagnosis before it becomes a full compressor failure.
  • Your electric bill spiked without a change in usage. A mini-split with a dying thermistor or a refrigerant undercharge will run at full power more than it should. When the bill jumps 30% or more month over month, we usually find the system working harder than it was designed to, and the fix is a specific part, not a vague tune-up.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Lennox mini-split installation in Las Vegas runs $3,500 – $7,500. Here is what drives the range:

  • Single-zone system, one indoor head, simple wall mount: $3,500 – $4,500
  • Multi-zone system, two to three indoor heads: $4,800 – $6,500
  • Multi-zone with ceiling cassette or floor console heads, longer line set runs: $5,500 – $7,500
  • Electrical upgrade (new dedicated circuit or sub-panel): $400 – $900 if required
  • Condensate pump (needed when gravity drainage is not possible): $150 – $350 parts and labor

Every quote we give is a written price before any work starts. The price includes the equipment, line set, electrical connection, condensate management, system startup, and a written guarantee on the installation workmanship. If we install a part and it fails within 365 days, we return at no charge under our Done Right Promise. No overtime charges, no surprises after the wall is open, and no labor billed for figuring out what the unit actually needs. That part is our job.

DIY or Call Us?

A mini-split is one of the few HVAC jobs where a homeowner can safely check a couple of things before picking up the phone. Check that the filters are clean, make sure the outdoor unit is not buried in leaves or debris, and confirm that nothing is blocking the indoor head’s airflow. That is where safe DIY ends on a mini-split.

After that, the dangerous work starts. The refrigerant lines hold several hundred PSI of pressure. The electrical work ties into a 240-volt circuit. The flare fittings have to be torqued to an exact spec or they leak slowly enough that you will not notice until the unit freezes up on the hottest day of the year. If the installation involves any electrical wiring beyond plugging in a cord, or any refrigerant line work at all, that is a job for a licensed, background-checked professional.
