York Furnace Repair in Las Vegas: What to Know First

York furnace repair in Las Vegas typically runs between $150 and $700 depending on the failed part, and most repairs are completed the same day our technician diagnoses the unit. We’re an independent York service provider, not a factory warranty station, which means we tell you straight what failed and what it costs before any work begins. If you own a York furnace and it’s blowing cold air, short-cycling, or making a sound it never made before, call (725) 502-1353 and a live person answers, day or night. This page is written for Las Vegas homeowners who want to understand their York furnace before a technician walks through the door.

How York Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

York builds furnaces that hold up fine in most climates, but Las Vegas pushes every unit harder than the factory ever planned for. We see the same handful of failure patterns across the York furnaces in this valley. Here’s what actually goes wrong:

  • York LX Series and TM9V: ignition control board failures. These two-stage units run the ignitor through the same board that governs the gas valve, and a voltage spike from a summer thunderstorm will take the board out before anything else. The symptom is a furnace that tries to light, you hear the gas click, then nothing. We replace the board with an OEM-equivalent and verify the ignitor amperage before we button it up.
  • York Affinity 9.C and YP9C: clogged condensate traps. These modulating furnaces pull condensation out of the exhaust, and the trap is small and shallow. Fine desert dust works into the flue and settles in that trap until it plugs solid. The furnace then throws a pressure switch code and refuses to run. We clean the trap, flush the condensate line with a mild solution, and clear the code. It’s a $125 to $225 repair most days unless the pressure switch itself has been damaged by repeated moisture exposure.
  • York Diamond 80 (the old workhorse): hot surface ignitor cracking. The Diamond 80 is disappearing from Las Vegas homes, but we still see plenty in older Summerlin and Henderson neighborhoods. The ignitor is silicon carbide, fragile by design, and it lives in the hottest part of the burner box. After 8 to 10 years it tends to crack at the base. The fix is a direct OEM replacement, and while we’re there we check the burner alignment so the new ignitor doesn’t get blasted unevenly.
  • York TM8V and TM8T: gas valve solenoid sticking. The single-stage gas valves on these mid-efficiency units sit right behind the burner and get exposed to sustained heat that bakes the internal lubricant. A sticking solenoid means the valve opens late or not at all. We replace the gas valve assembly with a certified unit, verify the manifold gas pressure with a manometer, and run a full sequence test.
  • All York condensing models: secondary heat exchanger corrosion. This one is a Las Vegas reality more than a York defect. Our tap water is harder than most, and the condensate produced by high-efficiency furnaces is mildly acidic. Over a decade, that acid eats at the secondary heat exchanger. The symptom is a sharp, almost chemical smell at the vents. If the exchanger has failed, we’ll show you before we quote a replacement option, and we’ll lay out the repair cost honestly against what a new furnace would run.

Our York Furnace Repair Process

Every York job goes through the same sequence, and you know the price before anything gets touched.

  1. 1
You call. A person answers. You describe what the furnace is doing, or not doing. Devin’s rule applies here: tell us what it’s doing, we’ll tell you what it needs.
  2. 2
We send you the technician. You get a name and a photo before the truck rolls. When the technician arrives, they show a photo ID at the door. That’s the Threshold Verified standard, and it’s non-negotiable on every visit.
  3. 3
Full diagnostic on the York unit. We check the sequence of operation, test the ignitor, gas valve, pressure switches, and blower motor. We pull the error codes and verify each one rather than guessing off the first fault we see.
  4. 4
You get a written price. Parts and labor together, no asterisk. We tell you if the part should be OEM York or if a quality aftermarket equivalent will do the job without compromising the warranty.
  5. 5
We do the repair and test the full cycle. The furnace has to light, run, and satisfy the thermostat three times before we call it done. We check gas pressure, temperature rise, and flame quality.
  6. 6
Cleanup and a written guarantee. The workspace looks the way we found it, and the repair is backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If that same repair fails within the year, we return at no charge.

What York Furnace Repair Costs in Las Vegas

York repair pricing in Las Vegas follows the same pattern we see across all brands: smaller electrical parts on the low end, larger components on the high end. Here are the numbers we quote most often:

  • Ignitor replacement: $150 – $300, parts and labor included.
  • Flame sensor cleaning or replacement: $90 – $180.
  • Gas valve replacement: $350 – $650 depending on the York model and valve type.
  • Blower motor replacement: $400 – $700 for a standard PSC motor, more for a variable-speed ECM unit on an Affinity or LX series.
  • Condensate trap cleaning or pressure switch replacement: $125 – $250.

What moves the price is the part itself and whether your York unit is a single-stage Diamond 80 or a modulating Affinity with proprietary components. You’ll always see the number in writing before we start. Call (725) 502-1353 for a free estimate.

Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Brandt HVAC Co Las Vegas for York Work

York furnaces are common in Las Vegas, but not every HVAC company treats them as anything more than another box in the closet. We do. Devin Marlowe learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has been diagnosing York equipment across the Southwest for years, including plenty of calls in Summerlin where summer heat gives furnaces no meaningful rest. Every repair we complete comes with a written guarantee and a 365-day promise: if it fails, we’re back at no charge. We also service Carrier, Trane, and Lennox, so when a homeowner asks whether to repair the York or replace it with a different brand, we can answer with real experience on all sides of the question. A live person answers our phones 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You’ll know the price before we pick up a tool.
