If your Goodman mini-split is dead or dying, the installation cost in Las Vegas typically runs between $3,500 and $7,500 complete, depending on the system size and how much line set work your home needs. We carry Goodman-compatible equipment and parts on our trucks, and in most Las Vegas neighborhoods, we can have a replacement installed within 24 to 48 hours of your call. Most homeowners figure out something’s wrong when the unit stops cooling in July, the outdoor condenser starts making a sound like a garbage disposal full of rocks, or the indoor head unit freezes into a solid block of ice overnight. That’s the moment you need straight answers, not a brochure.

At Brandt HVAC Co Las Vegas, we install and service Goodman mini-splits across the valley, from Summerlin to Henderson to North Las Vegas. We’re an independent provider, not affiliated with Goodman, but we’ve worked on enough of their equipment to know exactly what fails, what it costs to fix, and when replacement makes more sense than repair. Devin Marlowe has been diagnosing these systems for years, and he’ll tell you the same thing he tells every homeowner: a Goodman mini-split that’s properly installed and sized will run reliably for a decade or more. One that was hacked in by the lowest bidder will nickel-and-dime you every summer.
Which Goodman Models This Applies To
Goodman sells mini-splits under several series names, and most of what we install falls into the ComfortBridge, GSX, or GSZC lines, with capacities from 9,000 BTU single-zone units up to 36,000 BTU multi-zone systems. The biggest compatibility gotcha we see in Las Vegas is this: the indoor air handler and outdoor condenser are matched as a pair from the factory, and you can’t just swap one half of the system for a different size or series and expect it to work. Goodman’s communicating systems, especially the ComfortBridge models, rely on the indoor and outdoor boards talking to each other, so mixing a newer outdoor unit with an older indoor head usually means communication errors and a unit that refuses to run.
Before we quote any Goodman mini-split installation in Las Vegas, we pull the model and serial number off the data plate on the outdoor unit and the indoor head. That tells us the refrigerant type (R-410A on most current Goodman units, R-32 on the newest models), the capacity, and whether the line set is a standard match or something unusual. On the OEM versus aftermarket question: Goodman’s genuine parts are well-made and covered by their manufacturer warranty, but for things like line sets, condensate pumps, and mounting hardware, quality aftermarket equivalents are often functionally identical and cheaper. When it matters, we tell you exactly what you’re paying for and why.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Goodman Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- No cooling or weak airflow from the indoor head. This usually points to low refrigerant from a slow leak, a failed compressor, or a blower motor that’s tired and drawing high amps. In Las Vegas heat, a mini-split that’s low on charge will run constantly and never hit setpoint.
- Ice forming on the indoor coil or the line set. Ice means poor airflow across the evaporator (clogged filter or dirty coil) or low refrigerant. Either way, continuing to run the unit in this state will destroy the compressor faster than almost anything else.
- The outdoor condenser is loud, rattling, or short-cycling. A grinding compressor or a fan motor with wiped bearings is announcing its own death. Short-cycling, where the unit kicks on and off every few minutes, is often a control board or sensor issue.
- Water leaking from the indoor unit or pooling beneath it. Las Vegas humidity is low, but mini-splits still pull gallons of condensate during monsoon season. A failed condensate pump or a cracked drain pan will put water on your floor or drywall before you know it.
- Error codes flashing on the display or the unit won’t respond to the remote. Goodman mini-splits store fault codes that tell us exactly what the system thinks is wrong. We read them first, then verify with actual measurements. Codes alone don’t always tell the whole story.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A complete Goodman mini-split installation in Las Vegas runs $3,500 to $7,500 installed, with single-zone 9,000 to 12,000 BTU systems at the low end and multi-zone 36,000 BTU systems at the high end. What moves the price inside that range: the number of indoor heads, the distance between the indoor and outdoor units (longer line sets mean more copper, more labor, and more refrigerant), whether your electrical panel has room for the new circuit, and whether the old line set can be reused or needs to be replaced.
Every quote from Brandt HVAC Co Las Vegas is a written price before any work starts. That price includes the equipment, the line set, the electrical whip, the pad or wall mount for the condenser, the condensate drainage, a full refrigerant charge, and cleanup of the old unit if you want it hauled away. There’s no hourly meter running while the crew works. The installation is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right, we return and make it right at no charge.
For context on what you might be comparing: a full AC installation in Las Vegas typically runs $3,500 to $7,500, while a targeted AC repair runs $150 to $650. Mini-splits sit in that same install range but give you zone-by-zone control that a central system doesn’t.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest version. There are things you can safely do yourself before you call us: check the air filter, make sure the outdoor unit isn’t buried in cottonwood fuzz or blocked by a trash can, and confirm the breaker hasn’t tripped. Those cost you nothing and occasionally solve the whole problem.
What you should not do is open the refrigerant circuit, try to solder a line set, or start swapping electrical components on a live unit. Mini-splits run on high-voltage power and high-pressure refrigerant, and a botched refrigerant repair can burn you, blind you, or ruin a $4,000 system in one afternoon. Goodman’s warranties also require installation by a licensed professional, and a DIY install voids the compressor warranty immediately. If the system needs refrigerant work, a new compressor, or a board replacement, that’s a call for us at (725) 502-1353. Tell me what it is doing, I will tell you what it needs – no guessing, no padding the invoice.
FAQs
A properly installed Goodman mini-split in Las Vegas typically lasts 12 to 15 years, though the compressor often gives out a few years earlier if the unit was oversized, installed with a kinked line set, or run hard without regular coil cleaning. The desert heat and fine dust here shorten equipment life compared to milder climates, which is why we emphasize clean installation and matched components every time. If your system is over 12 years old and needs a major repair, replacement is usually the smarter money. Call (725) 502-1353 for an honest assessment.
Yes, many failures are repairable, including bad capacitors, failed condensate pumps, control board faults, and blower motor replacements, and those repairs usually fall in the $150 to $650 range. The line we draw is at the compressor or multiple simultaneous failures – once the compressor is gone on an older unit, you’re spending close to replacement money on a system that’s already past its prime. We give you the repair cost and the replacement cost side by side and let you decide. Estimates are free.
A single-zone Goodman mini-split installation in Las Vegas typically takes one full day, including mounting the indoor head, placing the outdoor condenser, running and insulating the line set, making the electrical connections, pulling a vacuum, and charging the system. Multi-zone systems with two or three indoor heads usually take two days. We set a firm install date when you approve the quote, and we don’t disappear halfway through to run another call.
We keep the most common Goodman mini-split parts on our trucks in Las Vegas: capacitors, contactors, condensate pumps, remote controls, fan motors, control boards, and line set fittings. Less common parts like specific indoor air handler assemblies or proprietary Goodman communicating boards we order for next-day delivery in most cases. If the part matches your unit and it’s in the truck, you’re back running the same day. We also carry parts for Carrier, Trane, and Lennox equipment.
If your Goodman mini-split installer has flaked, the unit was never right from day one, or it’s just flat dead and you need it handled, call (725) 502-1353. We answer the phone live, 24 hours a day, and we’ll give you a straight answer and a written price before you commit to anything.
